    defineModel is bad, because when you mutating value and after want to use it in the same scope, you need to remember to put nextTick after mutation. Otherwise value won't be mutated and nothing indicate that is async. Easy to make bugs with it :/ And vue team saying that is correct behavior.

    Finally useId built in. This means icons that need unique ids (used in masks, symbols, filters, some animations) don't have to use weird shenanigans to get unique ids for everything. Waited for this for so long!

    • @LearnVue
      @LearnVue 2 дня назад

      that’s a fire use case. what were you doing before

    • @slava_trushkin
      @slava_trushkin 2 дня назад

      @@LearnVue Before there were several solutions: 1. Render icon only after it is mounted, generating random ids. Might sound counter-productive, but it solved hydration mismatch because component renders empty element when hydration happens and on server. Delay between original render and re-render is very small. 2. Rendering icons as background/mask images. One of better solutions, but has issues with animated icons - animation timer starts only first time icon is rendered and cannot be restarted. 3. Using web component. Then icon is in Shadow DOM, no hydration and unique id issues. However, that brings another issue: web components are not always rendered instantly, sometimes there is a delay.

    I'm not a fan of destructuring props tho. I love the semantics behind the "props" prefix.

  • @lintendo100
    @lintendo100 2 дня назад

    I had a lot of discussion on the GitHub RFC for reactive props destructuring. So I'm super glad that it's now official part of Vue and I don't need to argue anymore :D Was really excited about the faster reactivity tracking, because I have a project with pretty large nested arrays, but didn't notice a performance difference unfortunately.

    I tried Vue after watching your videos but soon started hating it as I more worked in it especially the vue-use package. It got some helper tools but most of them doesn't stack together, for instance when using focus trap, it'll throw an error if no trappable elements are present in the container, the second one is keyboard shortcut composable. There is no option to even listen for events on window. Third the Vue's transition API breaks on nested transitions. In short very bad experience with Vue 2/10.

    • @alec9260
      @alec9260 3 дня назад

      Vue is better than the alternatives by a long shot. React has too many options and Angular is way too verbose for no reason. Blaming Vue for an external composable library that I'm guessing you used wrong doesn't mean it's bad lol.

    • @azzazkhansiddiqui
      @azzazkhansiddiqui 2 дня назад

      @@alec9260 Nah, I've used Vue back in 2020 and now they've added the composition API stuff its much better than the previous syntax but the refs also make a lot of issues, you have to unref and toref a value and do all sorts of juggling.
